Introducing Stephen Wildish

I’ve been a big fan of Stephen Wildish, or rather his work, for some time now. If you haven’t seen his amazing artwork yet then here’s a couple of his illustrations for your delectation.

He’s got a new online shop selling posters of his work, hopefully he’ll send me one for giving him a shout out, but if not I’ll just print one off and hang it in the smallest room…

Commun-i-tea

Sarah Griffiths is currently in her fourth year at Duncan of Jordanstone college of art Dundee and is investigating ideas of community – researching what brings people together and where we feel a sense of belongingTea is obviously a great connector so she designed and built a transformable tea trolley-come-table that she takes out and around different towns and cities and sets up in various locations -  makes a pot of tea and invites passers by to join her for a while and share their thoughts about community

Sarah records the conversations and translates these experiences into a series of line drawings which together with quotes from the conversations offer a glimpse into the thoughts and ideas of her fellow tea drinkers – people have very strong feelings about tea

Sarah is currently working on the tea trolley mark2

Making Tea – Augmented (hyper) Reality

The latter half of the 20th century saw the built environment merged with media space, and architecture taking on new roles related to branding, image and consumerism. Augmented reality may recontextualise the functions of consumerism and architecture, and change in the way in which we operate within it.

A film produced by Keiichi Matsuda for his final year Masters in Architecture, part of a larger project about the social and architectural consequences of new media and augmented reality.
